Bill 168 (Workplace Violence and Harassment) Online Training
The amendments impose new obligations on employers to incorporate protection for workers and others in the workplace against violence and harassment.
The Bill, which came into force on June 15, 2010, requires employers to develop workplace violence and harassment policies, create programs to implement those policies, provide reports for incidents of violence and harassment, and engage in surveys to measure the risk of workplace violence. Of special note is the right of workers to refuse work if they feel they are in an unsafe situation because of the potential for a violent situation arising.
